Smardan Street is one of the busiest street in the Old Town center of Bucharest. It is considered the entertainment center of the Old Town, hosting numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, decorated with street lights that remind people of Little Paris.In January 1859 at No. 42 Smardan Street, Wallachian deputies elected Alexandru Ioan Cuza as their Prince.
